Three times a week we take them out 12 Step fellowship meetings to interact with people outside rehap that is also in recovery to motivate them further to continue the program after rehap.
Gradual Reintegration and Continued Recovery
The long-term programme gives clients more time to complete the full 12 Step process, practise recovery skills and gradually reconnect with life outside the treatment centre. Day passes and external fellowship meetings can help clients prepare for continued recovery after residential treatment.
Individual and Group Counselling
Individual counseling sessions is done on a regular basis to build a relationship with the client, looking at their wants and needs and finding solutions to their problems in life.
We help them build up their self esteem and self confidence as well as helping them to recognize their core values and beliefs.
Group counseling sessions are very important as well to help to interact with others and to knowledge that they are not alone.
Family sessions with a counsellor also form part of the programme. These sessions can help families understand addiction, improve communication and prepare to provide healthier support during and after treatment.
Why the Long-Term Programme Is Strongly Suggested
Our long term program is strongly suggested as it isn’t a quick fix and time is needed to break any denial and break old patterns.
Addiction recovery often requires time, consistent therapeutic support and repeated opportunities to practise healthier behaviours. A longer programme can allow clients to work more deeply on denial, personal responsibility, self-esteem, core values, relationships and the routines required for sustainable recovery.
The most suitable programme will depend on the individual's substance use, personal history, medical needs, emotional wellbeing, family circumstances and progress during treatment. Families can contact Crossroads Recovery Centre to discuss assessment and admission options.
